Hotel
Savoy
Prague
is one of those story book European cities. It
is medieval yet romantic and well preserved.
It’s just the type of city that you want to
stroll through with the one you love. If you’re
looking for the perfect place to begin that
walk, than you need search no further than the
Hotel Savoy. This hotel has the best address in
Prague.
It is located just steps from the
Prague
Castle
and is in the heart of the city center.
The
Savoy
was originally built in 1911 in the Art Nouveau
style. Immediately upon opening it became “the”
place to stay near
Prague
castle. In 1914 the facility opened a cinema and
attracted the attention of the cultural
community. During communist rule the
Savoy
suffered and went into decline but in 1990 it
was remodeled to become the hotel that I
visited. This mixture of history and modern
amenities makes it the perfect place for
discerning travelers like Sean Connery and
me.
Due
to the age of the building each of the rooms has
its own shape and size but all of them are very
spacious. The standard rooms can range from 35
to 45 square meters. That’s big! All of the 55
rooms and 6 suites are decorated and furnished
in a tasteful manner that is only improved upon
by their amenities like: high speed internet and
complimentary breakfast.
The
Hradcany Restaurant is a must visit. The food is
a mixture of Czech and International cuisine
that is combined with an extensive and varied
wine list.

I
thought the food was amazing until I was
absolutely bowled over by their retractable
glass dome and sinking windows. With one touch
of a button their dining room went from a grand
hall to an airy garden. good,
it’s no wonder the Hotel Savoy is a member of
the Leading Small Hotels of the
World.
The
Savoy’s
motto is “A unique experience of charm and
luxury” and though I was only here for a short
while, I can tell you that they not only lived
up to this, they surpassed it.
