New World Hotel Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City

Since it’s opening in 1994, the New World Hotel has been the place to stay in Saigon. It was the first hotel in Vietnam to be awarded a five-star rating and it has maintained it ever since. In fact it is the only world class hotel that I would stay at in Saigon and many dignitaries like Hillary Clinton agree with me.

The lobby is built with grandeur in mind. It is an absolutely huge room that has marble columns and floors, classic décor, and a domed ceiling that lets in natural light. This room was built to impress and that’s exactly what it does.

The service at the New World is the best in town. All of their staff is committed to making every guest feel like a V.I.P.

The deluxe rooms are some of the nicest that I’ve seen anywhere. They have a private sitting room, designer linens and high-tech entertainment like: satellite TV and high-speed internet. Each day the room gets fresh flowers and complimentary bottled water. The bathrooms have marble sinks and wall tiling, plus a bath and shower combo.

If you feel the need to get up and move, then head to the sports center. They have everything an athlete could desire from a world class gym and tennis court to spa facilities like: a steam room, a sauna and massage treatments. But out of all of these options, I chose to hang out by the pool. The New World’s pool is the largest in Saigon and it’s the perfect place for a few laps, a nap or a snack from the poolside bar.

But if it’s real food you’re craving, then you have to try the Dynasty Restaurant. From the day this eatery opened it has been considered one of the best Chinese restaurants in the city and it has won numerous awards. If you’re not feeling up for Chinese food, don’t despair because they have several dining options from their world class buffet to the Parkview Restaurant which serves casual meals in a family friendly environment.

After dinner enjoy a few drinks in the Lobby Lounge. It’s more than a great place to mingle. It’s the place to enjoy live jazz music.

If you decide to leave the hotel to explore the city, you’ll be happy to find that the New World is in the perfect location. It’s in the heart of the commercial and financial district and an easy walk to Saigon’s largest indoor market, Ben Thanh. When it’s time to head off to the airport, you’re only 20 minutes away.

All the amenities, friendly service and delicious meals make the New World Hotel my favorite place to stay in Saigon
