The Tower Floor on the 7th level has 30 rooms and 4 suites with private elevators, concierge and special amenities. The hotel offers 35 luxurious suites, including a honeymoon Jacuzzi suite and the distinctive Presidential and Royal suites. Lace wrought-iron balconies allow guests to enjoy the charm of Bourbon Street below. You’ll feel like royalty in any of the suites and the furnishings are scrumptious!

   

Here’s another surprise! New Orleans is famous for there homes built around inner courtyards with pools, fountains and gardens. Well, you probably don’t know anyone in town to get a first-hand look at their quaint beauty. However, if you go to the pool area of the Royal Sonesta, you are in for a treat. All those special suites have the typical courtyard wrought iron balconies over-looking the pool! So, guests look down at you, and you have a chance to experience the inner sanctum of the courtyard from below.

   

The newest restaurant is Tera Verde, an Italian restaurant with something for everybody. They also have Tides Oyster Bar, with fresh fish delivered daily. Then there’s China Spice, their Chinese offering, and that has a Japanese sushi bar attached to it, so they’ve got Asian cuisine covered! Of course, there’s a traditional coffee shop and a buffet hall, so they've got something for everybody. There’re so many restaurants, you don’t have to go anywhere, and most people stick around for the chance to win big in one of 7 casinos.

   

Now if you visit at the holidays, the Christmas decorations don’t stop in the lobby, the Royal Sonesta decks the halls and the rooms with Christmas decorations! Want a tree in your room? No problem! Right after Thanksgiving, they have the traditional lighting of the balconies ceremony, which really signals in the beginning of the Christmas season in the French Quarter. Even the locals come for the event, as it has become a holiday tradition in the French Quarter. They have local children’s choirs performing throughout the month of December, as well as Teddy Bear Trees to delight the little ones. Take Begue's Restaurant a 4 diamond French Quarter landmark overlooking the exquisite courtyard. The locally renowned chef prepares extraordinary French and Creole specialties plus there is their famous Friday Seafood Buffet and Sunday Champagne Brunch, where you can have a sampling of everything. Something fishy? You’ll enjoy fresh Louisiana seafood and Creole delicacies in the Desire Oyster Bar, a casual street-side bistro with French doors overlooking colorful Bourbon Street.

   

Mystick is a cocktails lounge just off the lobby, featuring New Orleans specialty drinks and hot libations. Adjacent to the lobby, the Mystick provides live entertainment Tuesday through Saturday nights. The locals hang out in another of the bars, Le Booze also over-looking Bourbon Street. This is the place they meet up after work or for the evening. Early riser and crave caffeine? The Royal Cafe is located in the lobby and open from 6:00 am to noon, serving specialty coffee drinks with fresh croissants and fruit Danishes. If you are not in the mood for coffee, you can choose a flute of one of their select champagnes for a bubbly breakfast.

   

If you crave the exotic from 10:30 am to late, stop by the Daiquiri Delight Shop where every exotic concoction you can imagine is offered in a bright and casual atmosphere reminiscent of an old ice-cream parlor, but with more kick. Of course, you have only to walk outside the hotel to find quality restaurants and jazz clubs if you don’t want to dine within the hotel.

   

It is 3 blocks to Jackson Square for shopping delights, cable cars on Canal Street are not far, and all the jazz you could want for are right outside the hotel lobby on Bourbon Street.
